Course Info: 1st year Chemistry course (SK-B1SPAN)
Number of students: ca. 90, in two streams X (groups 1-6) and Y (groups 7)
Participation (teaching load):
- X of Y stroom
- X én Y stroom
Teaching load: 180 hours
Teaching responsability: supervision of groups of ca. 12 students in either X or Y stream
Type of practicals: Skills experiments & Project, supervisor linked to fixed group of students
Qualifications required:
- Active mastering of the Dutch language preferable
- Analytical Chemistry
- Spectroscopy
- ALL AIO’s that completed BAMA@UU !
- For this course you need to refresh your analytical chemistry and spectroscopy background. This may be through self study and provided TA manuals.

Jan 27th (9 - 17 hrs - Stephan/Kanvaly): General intro and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) - Ca and Mg in drinking water
Jan 28th (10-17 hrs - Ruud): UV/Vis and Fluorescence Spectroscopy - Quinine in Tonic water
Jan 30th (9 - 15 hrs - Merel/Kanvaly): Potentiometry - Ion Selective Electrode - Fluoride in Toothpaste
Jan 31st (9 -17 hrs - Sanne/…): High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) - Caffein in Coffee
March 6th (9 - 17 hrs - Stephan-Sanne-Merel-Matthias-Kanvaly-Ruud): Project - See last year's projects HERE and subpages, some projects might be replaced by new ones.
